Zeby has been relocated to the Nairobi National Park. She had chosen to domesticate herself when her entire family was wiped out by predators.
For almost two months, Zeby was comfortable spending her days grazing with Maasai cattle and sleeping next to their boma at night.
It was a remarkable choice as she became the darling of residents who got used to the spectacle, and literally helped in looking out for Zeby on a daily basis. "Have you seen her today?" "Where is she today?" "Will the lions come for her here?" and so on.
And Zeby did not disappoint as she would confidently walk around the busy shopping center, and graze in the middle of homestead compounds without any worries.
As each night approached, Zeby would make herself comfortable next to the cattle enclosures and hunker down for the night until daybreak.
Zeby was confident of her safety as long as dogs guarding livestock gave her advance warning of any potential dangers.
