Birds from the African Continent
This episode is the first in an upcoming series of birds from the African continent.
To anchor the theme of Ecosystem Restoration, I have chosen birds as the best ambassadors to bring out the story of biodiversity. Because birds are signature species in announcing the state of the environment.
Through their songs, it is possible to detect a degraded or well balanced ecosystem. And no matter the type of environment, birds seem to be joyful in their melodious providence.
Birds wake up early to announce dawn and onset of every new day. In their flybys while foraging for food, they offer a relaxing distraction that impacts positively on our overall wellness and mental health.
In different seasons, birds migrate from our environs to other continents while others arrive from thousands of miles away to live among us for a season.
Curious birdlife series will explore and bring to life all types of birds in Africa's habitats.
