Rain Prayer
God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth
and all life forms great and small
Gather your rainy clouds, and send them with your breath,
let them drift softly over our thirsty earth
Open the skies with tender mercy,
so each rain drop falls like a blessing -
cooling dust, waking seeds, and stitching life back into the land
Drum, sky, drum -
let your cool rhythms come
Fall, rain, fall -
wake the seeds, bless them all
Flow, streams, flow -
guide new green to grow
Let earth rise again,
on the heartbeat of rain
