Nature is designed in such a way that it is beneficial to all living species.
The African rainbird (Mututu) or Burchell's Coucal is a bird that is revered and valued in Africa. It arrives on time to announce the onset of the rains season.
This gives the farmers confidence to prepare and start planting their farms. It is not unusual to hear farmers inquiring from their neighbours if they had heard the Mututu announcing the coming rains.
The bird is considered sacred in many African cultures because it is a messenger of good tidings, and hope in God's abundant provisions.
